Our Day in Long Beach

  One 16" round consists of a shell (blue) and six 110lb. white canvas bags of powder.  
  The key control rooms of the Iowa were heavily armored as is the pilot house door.  
  President Roosevelt traveled to Europe aboard the USS Iowa, staying in the Captain's Cabin.  
The former Long Beach Naval Base is now a huge container port
