Zelma McDaniel sent the following note and obituary to Ozzie.

I'm sending you my husband, Albert's obituary.  He was aboard the Cabildo in the early 1950s.  They were stationed in San Diego for a while, and also in Vallejo, California before going overseas to take part in the Atomic bomb tests on Entewetak.  The name of the test was "Greensleeves" and four to six bombs were exploded.   One had a fallout that blew over the Cabildo and dumped the nuclear contents on deck.  He said they washed that deck down many times and the Geiger counter registered "red hot" for weeks afterward.  They said the commander of the ship  was called "Shakey Jake".....I do not know his name.... One officer on the ship last name was Bleeker.

I don't know what this letter and Obituary will accomplish, but I thought you should know, since I won't be sending the yearly $25 assessment fee anymore.   Thank you for your time... I remain his wife.

                    Zelma McDaniel

Albert was buried in the Jefferson Barracks Cemetery, in South St Louis, Missouri with military honors.
