George's Obituary George James White, 85, of Jerome (Somerset Center), Michigan passed away peacefully on November 18 at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson, Mi. George, the son of Stanley and Martha (Gaydos) White, was born in Detroit on October 28, 1933 and was the eldest of 5 siblings, Florence (Pat) Frazier, Jane McCarthy, Stanley (Steve) White and Thomas White. After graduating from Fordson High School in Dearborn, MI, George married his high school sweetheart (and is survived by), Dorothy Jane Jablonski – a marriage that has lasted 65 years, until his passing. A navy veteran who proudly served in The Korean War, George was a self-made man, entrepreneur and owner of Dearborn Heating and Cooling whom he purchased from his father c.1958. He successfully ran the business until 1998 when he sold it to his sons and retired to his beloved home on Lake LeAnn where he enjoyed many peaceful years of travel the country in his Miata, tinkering in his workshop, watching his grandchildren grow, and countless beautiful sunsets over the lake. His memory will forever live in our hearts and in every breathtaking sunset yet to come. He is survived by his four children – George of Saginaw, Rick (Kim) of Livonia, Lisa (Mark) of Novi, David (Noemi) of Canton, and his six grandchildren – Jacob, Derek, Conner, Brendan, David and Raquel. We have honored George's wish to be cremated, and his remains will be laid to rest at Great Lakes Military Cemetery in Holly, MI.
